This toaster design is based on the Expressionism art movement. I was inspired by the its early German roots to create a gothic esque shape. As many churches in that time were made of
intricate wood, it only made sense to incorporate that texture into the design.

I began with a graphite sketch from several angles, after-which a water colored render was made. To create a digital version I utilized Illustrator and 3D Substance. After viewing it this way it
finally came time to truly bring the design to life by getting it 3D printed. In order to sell the that “wooden look” I painted the grain after some coats of spraypaint.
